As a food blogger and private practice dietitian, I work closely with clients in the virtual setting teaching them all about healthy cooking¬– so it’s important for me to feel fully confident in my kitchen knowledge. This course helped me go from a proficient to advanced recipe developer and cook. I now have a deep understanding of various culinary techniques and health benefits behind each of the unique foods groups we eat. I am so grateful for this opportunity to further my learning and the ability to have a comprehensive resource to look back at. I have been a dietitian now for a little over 7 years now and this program has finally made me feel like I’ve found myself and what I really love to do…play with food! I kind of always had a feeling that was the area I wanted to end up in since I love doing cooking demos, but this really confirmed that for me. I loved trying out a new variety of techniques for cooking my produce and I couldn’t be happier that I can now make salmon with crispy skin!! I can even make biscuits.,.who knew? Abbie and Julie really know their way around the kitchen and I hope to take more of their classes in the future.

I benefitted both professionally and personally from the Culinary Nutrition Studio’s Basic Certification course. It helped me expand my skills in the kitchen by teaching and demonstrating basic culinary techniques that I repeated for proficiency. The nutrient content review (of major items within each food group) served as this RDN’s continuing education to reinforce my understanding of the role different foods play in overall nutrition. After completing the Basic course, I feel more confident to show and explain to clients HOW they can prepare healthier food for themselves and their families. Abbie Gellman and Julie Harrington were personable chef educators that provided timely support during the course. I’m eager to continue with the Advanced Certification!

This workshop was absolutely amazing. I am a senior at Queens College and I am so happy I was able to participate in this class. I learned so much and the environment was very open and welcoming. I felt so comfortable asking questions and left feeling more confident. My instructors (Abbie and Julie) were so amazing along with the rest of the staff (Sam and Corrine). It was so nice to be a part of a class where I could learn from them along with other dietitians and prospective dietitians. This would be an amazing class for anyone!

The workshops were very informative. I was taught information that could easily be translated to my clients when I encourage them to cook healthier. Plus, I really enjoyed making a meal with other class attendees. I would say Chef Julie and Chef Abbie provide great value by not only teaching us about GI disorders, but also walking us through the different culinary strategies we can teach our clients/patients. And then ending the class with a delicious plate of food? Amazing.
